Final Product

My final paper did not include everything I originally wanted to include and at first I was disappointed. I realized that if I wanted to show everything I felt and researched my paper would have had to be 20 pages so I settled with main ideas like how lucky I am to have a father how is so involved in my life and how much we are alike. I know that I for one feel that even though I could not include everything I had planned to I am lucky have found out everything I found out. Through the process I found research that has made me feel so lucky so have my father. I also asked him many questions that I would have never asked if it wasn’t for this project and I am so happy I know them. This project benefited me in many ways and I am very happy role models were our topic.

Ending

I ended researching my mother's disease M.S (multiple sclerosis) and my grandmas cancer Colon Cancer I found a lot of facts that I am going to include in my paper because I made another connection between father and I. My mom has M.S and my dad has always been extremely supportive and has always helped her in whatever she needed. My father also grew up with a mother who was sick my grandmother had Colon cancer while my dad was growing up and his father to was very supportive and willing. I compare the situation because both my mother and my grandmother are strong people the strongest I know and they were both sick during my father and my childhood and the situations were nearly identical. When I asked my dad what it was like when my grandma had cancer he told me that it felt similar to when my moms M.S was active. We made a lot of connections between the way we felt and reacted to everything. It was just one more thing we share and it also is a really good point to include in my paper.
Writing this paper has brought up so many things that I had never thought about. When I started this paper I thought it was going to be all about how my father and I share a passion and it made us have a very special relationship but in the process I realized that there is way more between us then just a shared passion. There are so many reason we are similar people.

Presentation

I hope the presentation went well. I am trying to make this paper the best I can. The problem that I am having is avoiding a autobiography as I write my paper. In my presentation I did my best to example the goals of my paper and avoid just telling you guys about my dad. I wont this paper to have some of myself involved in it and why I see my father as a role model and more importantly how he reflects in me. I have so much I would like to include and it is very hard to tie it to thesis statement so I really appreciate the advice during my presentation.

Final Pitch NY Yankees Win 2009 World Series Live HD

World series

It's funny how things work the New York Yankees are what started the the link that made my father and I so close. In 2003 when the Yankees beat the Boston Red Sox in the ALCS I started a mission with my dad to become a fantastic softball pitcher as my father and I chased my dream we built many links that were far deeper then softball and it all started with one Yankee play off game. It only makes sense that when I finally reached my goals it was after my beloved Yankees reached their goal. I find parallels like this one amazing.

Making Connections

My father is a very driven person I guess that is what links the business world tie into the sports. In order to keep a business running and winning a game you need similar characteristics and qualities. I think for both talents you need to be competitive and driven. When your playing a sport in order to be successful and good you must be fearless I think many people would agree that in order to cut it in business you must share the same qualities.
^
In my paper I want to stick to this idea to link the two things that I admire and that have shaped my father to be my role mode together.  I thought using personality traits would be very effective and I could look up a journal on research about the two. I think I may be on to something

Progress

I've been searching odds of small business success on the internet because my dad is a small business owner and I have always been proud of that I thought it would be interesting to incorporate some stats into my paper and find sources about small business owners. I found a lot of interesting stats that impress my about my dads business like 95% of small business's fail within the first 5 years and my dad has been in business for 19 years. I included the link there is a lot of interesting stats I want to add.

Why

I want to clearly state why my father is my biggest role model. I think that it is really easy to pick your parents as your role model because they are the people you watch for your entire life. I have always picked up on my both my parents habits and inherited their mannerisms. I feel that both my parents are extremely strong good people that I want to be just like. My shared passion with baseball created not only someone I admire because I admire my mother equally but it created the definition of "role" model I became scarily like my dad. My dad is my role model because we share the same thought process we think alike so we are always on the same page. He has a successful business and times are very tough for small business owners I think because I understand him so much is why I admire it so much which is the key to why he is my role model.

Who He Is

As I read through some of the other blogs I realized I should include more about who my dad actually is. James Saburro is my fathers name he was raised and born in Schenectady. My parents met and have been together since they were 15 years old. My dad got in the car business at Orange motors when he was 19 years old since then he has been in the business. He built his own small business the year I was born and then built a huge beautiful building 8 years after. I am so proud of my dads business it is hard with all the franchise car dealer ships out there and he has succeeded in business for almost 19 years. In high school my dad was a fantastic baseball player he won many awards and was very recognized and recruited to college ball however he chose to marry my mom and start working instead. He has a enormous passion for the sport and I got that from him and that is how our extremely close relationship started.

Where is all started

If there is one thing on my dads side of the family that will always truly be valued it is baseball and the yankees. As long as I can remember my father his father and his brothers have endlessly argued and talked about the yankees and the game of baseball I have always been some what girly so I never really cared to listen when I was younger. I played softball in our towns rec league mostly because all my friends did and hey I was pretty good so every year I kept playing. I began to like it a little better I liked being the pitcher I could handle the pressure and who doesn't like success. In 2003 my views changed in one night. I had been watching the yankee vs red sox ALCS series here and there because it was always on in the house I got a little into it. Good news for my dad and brother they got tickets to go to the game 7 winner goes to the world series game! So of course that night my mom and I watched. The game was amazing the yankees won in extra inning on an Aaron Boone home run. I loved it from that night on I found my love it was baseball and of course the yankees. That winter I was with my dad non stop working my butt off to improve to make the travel team.  From that year on the baseball passion was shared between my father and I in the process we formed many more links that will last forever.

Yankees Aaron Boone hits walk off home run in the playoffs!

Role Model

I think that my father and I biggest link has been softball ever since I can remember we have spent endless hours pitching. During that time I have realized so much about my dad and I have also admired his strong qualities. My father is extremely strong willed I think that is what I admire the most about him and hope I take after him in that way. Even though I had been treated unfairly in the softball world he never gave up that I could be successful and more importunely I never gave up because of the qualities that I molded myself to have after him. My dads personality traits lead my to be a all-star this past season.
